Quiche submitted by Bonkerz For each large egg you use, add enough liquid to the egg to equal 1/2 cup. So for a 9-inch crust, you might use four large eggs and add enough liquid to reach 2 cups. A traditional quiche is made with heavy cream and is very rich. But you can substitute half and half, whole milk, or even skim milk. For seasoning, add a little salt and pepper, and nutmeg or tarragon in delicate quiches, or oregano, cayenne, or sage with more robust ingredient combinations, such as sausage. Just use your imagination for adding different ingredients. Follow the directions on the package to pre-bake your 9 in. pie crust. Add your ingredients then your egg mixture. Bake the quiche in a 375°F oven for 30 to 35 minutes. The filling should puff up a bit and be lightly browned. If the edge of the crust starts to brown too much ...cover only the edges with foil. Suggested Ingredients: Crumbled Bacon Here is something I think would make a great Breakfast Quiche: 2 (12 ounce) packages of frozen hash browns ...thawed 1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees Have fun and experiment with your different added ingredients...after all, cooking should be enjoyable |
