Kus De Kikker
Prologue~
Sweet little princess, let me introduce his frogness
He's gonna dive down in the deepness
He's gonna be just like your best friend
so you can do it
come on , come on lady kiss that frog.
let me slip beside you and eat right off your plate
princess you'll just like him if you lower your defence
Kiss that frog and you will get your prince.
~from kiss That Frog by peter Gabriel
This prinses who reigns in a land of mist
had her reservations about being kissed
by a wee little frog
who did dwell in a bog
"But", said she, "Let us see.."
and as she leaned over her black tresses fell
all around the little frog as he sat on top of a well
she tenderly kissed the top of his head
and as she did the frog then said....
Seeing things that were not there
on a wing and on a prayer
the world was fading, the only thing she remembered
was the warm voice whispering, very tender.
her reservations vanished like sun condensed the damp
the fog was getting mistier, a distraction of the swamp.
Higher and higher the wheel of fortune took her out,
she was out of the sky drifting on a cloud.
A religous sound put her into a trance
and in this state she started to dance.
The doors of the opera house busted and opened wide
a dog of fantasy appeared to make her realize;
he said: step on my wings of love...
As soon as she was on the dog's back
a hideous troll came to attack
"Get thee gone! You are not real!"
The prinses could only speak what her heart did feel.
At once the troll turned into ash
the dog unfurled his wings at last
and away the flew into the heaven's repast.
"But wait! The frog- i CANNOT leave behind;
for to me, you know, he was so kind"
The dog just smiled and shook his head,
"Worry not dear Prinses, theres nothing to dread.
You will see your frog soon enough."
"But dog, my heart- it cannot bluff!
It makes no sense - I know not why-
the frog: my soul did he make fly!"
the dog he smiled for he knew why
as they continued higher into the sky.
The sky's suppoused to be the limit,
like in ancient, a lighter when you lit it.
The contours of the Ghost seemed to dissappear,
and his last words were spoken in her ear:
You will fall but you will not fail,
cause Destiny's the writer of this tale.
Lightening occured when two heavens collide
a rock in the sea, not afraid of the tide.
faling and tumbling out of the time
No worries: tonight magic will me mine.
Memories are twisted with hopes and with dreams
She looked at her feet and stood in the beams
The sun of the desert dazzled her eyes
She coulnt say words in this Paradise.
Looking and searching for love in her life
She didn't believe her heart was in strife.
Her feet touched the ground
Waiting there was the frog on the mound
Her soul cried "Your heart's desire is found!"
She ran to the frog, took him up in her hands
as she looked in his eyes away melted all previous plans.
All the Prinses was born and bred for;
a glorious palace and suitors by the score
the fame the renown the gold and the power
dresses of velvert brocade in the tower
all flew from her mind...
there was nothing left to find.
As her lips met the frog's
they were taken up in a swirling fog
and returned to where our story began: in the bog.
The Prinses' dreams have come to fruition
and though you might find this tale a strange juxtaposition
if you are wise enough to keep the frog's story in view
then you might have a chance at finding a love pure and true.
